The rapid ascent of advanced artificial intelligence presents unparalleled opportunities alongside profound challenges. The Journal of AI Safety, Ethics, and Alignment Science (JASEAS)​ is founded to serve as the central scholarly venue for the multifaceted science of developing AI that is not only capable, but also safe, ethical, and aligned with human values. We hereby issue our inaugural call for papers.

JASEAS is dedicated to transcending silos. We seek to synthesize cutting-edge technical research with deep ethical, legal, and policy scholarship. Our goal is to publish work that directly contributes to the reliability, robustness, and societal trustworthiness of AI systems. The journal provides a unique home for research that might otherwise fall between the domains of specialized CS conferences and humanities journals.
